"I am sure if they just donated to the U of C in general you would report the same."

There are literally dozens of examples of oil companies that have donated to U of C that would benefit from the changes proposed by Jack Mintz.

Did I invoke any of those examples? No.

Why? Because they aren't releavnt to the research in question.

I agree that we don't need to give it away and that competition for investment with other jusrisdictions is real. But I want to see unbiased research on these issues, and Mintz's mockery just doesn't cut it.

I didn't realize that they had to be careful where they donate $$. There is not a University Course out there that couldn't have a degree of influence. I am sure if they just donated to the U of C in general you would report the same. Not only was my comment meant to be ridiculous it also points out the naive points that question whether we receive a fair share. I don't know how much more obvious you need it to be. We don't need to give it away but we need to be competitive. Prices are not that bad and look at the deficit, but go ahead blame it on what you will. My WAPpy kool aid tastes like reality, which right now some people don't get.

What a ridiculous comment. How's the WAP-py kool aid taste? I have *no problem at all* with Imperial Oil donating money to post-secondary.

But for people who received the money to then publish what might appear to be objective research to the layperson, without any effective disclosure of their direct financial relationships with the industry that stands to benefit from their opinionated conclusions, I take issue.

Thats right! Imperial Oil ,them greedy corporates, giving $1 Million to a Calgary school while the GOA cuts secondary education by 2.7%. What is the world coming to! FYI That bad Texas is employing almost three times the amount of workers as all of Alberta in their energy sector, we should take more! Where else can they go?
God I hate Kool Aid
